A few months back we first heard mention of Hilltop Vineyard. Sitting atop Bearden Hill, it could, and is sometimes mistaken for a wine store. However, friends told us it was a true hidden gem. Chef Mory Gomez and his wife Debbie are the sole staff and do an amazing job of making their guests feel like part of the family. Gomez mastered the art of French cuisine while working under the late Serge Conant for ten years. Hilltop is a quaint spot with enough seating for about 17 people. Debbie greeted us with toasts and a mild tapenade to enliven our palates followed by a neverending supply of freshly baked bread that will knock your socks off.  Upon welcoming us, she encouraged us to take our time we could enjoy our table for the evening in true French fashion. The one-page menu offers hearty and delicious dishes from the countryside including Chicken Chardonnay and Shrimp Serge. Most entrees are served with either a salad or the incredibly rich and tasty French onion soup that should be tried by everyone in your party. All of our dishes were perfectly prepared with plenty left over for lunch the following day. Daily specials are posted on a board at the front. All prices on the menu include tax.
