You might think Rhythm and Blooms is the biggest news happening in downtown Knoxville this weekend. But we’ve got news for you, Blühen Botanicals, Knoxville’s new CBD manufacturer and seller is opening it’s doors this weekend too!
We got a sneak peek at the new Old City retail location this evening and there’s lots of great things in store for visitors. The sleek new space designed by Sanders Pace architecture is your first indication that this is not just another Old City business. More like an upscale jewelry store with exquisite style, the entry area features a counter space where guests can browse and ask questions about their CBD ( and CBG ) products ranging from canisters of buds with microscopes on the top that you can view the hemp up close and personally, to rolled buds, to vapes and gel tablets. The opening lineup of products vary in potentency and effects and Casey Brooks took us on our tour explaining the individual products in details along with showing us retail pricing. Also in the front area is a beverage area featuring hemp infused beer from Elkmont Exchange, Frog Juice Kombucha, and other selections. We sampled the Hemp Beer and it was delicious and refreshing and dank in the best way.

Moving on through the facility is a lounging area and kitchen. Blühen called on chef Jon Newman to consult on the menu of hemp focused dishes. We had the smoky chicken salad with hemp seed and accompanying Paysan crackers. Probably the best chicken salad we’ve ever tasted and the salad dressing was exceptional. The Club consisted of local salami that chef Newman makes for Blühen on thick cut Paysan bread. We’ve sampled this charcuterie before and have thought about it ever since. So it’s great to know where we can go get our fix when we are craving it!

Moving along, the back area is a meeting spot for hempucation as well as being a spot other organizations and rent to have meetings at. Blühen opens this weekend and is probably the most unique concept to hit downtown in years. This isn’t a stoner joint… Blühen takes its business seriously and has an aggressive growth plan along with being the manufacturer for other companies.
