Tucked away in the Plaza at the Commons center on South Peters Road is a little restaurant serving some of the most delicious gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches you have ever had. It’s All So Yummy Cafe is celebrating 3 years of offering sandwiches ranging from your basic grilled cheese to monstrous creations like a recent grilled cheese of the month: avocado, fresh pineapple, red onion, crispy bacon, provolone cheese and an orange chili. Owner Kim Wilcox strives to make as much in house as she possibly can. Daily soup specials utilize ingredients from local farmers and it is not unusual to see her mixing her famous pimento cheese by hand on any given day. Along with the grilled cheeses, over 12 regular menu versions and a monthly special, soup, and salads, It’s All So Yummy has 30 regular homemade Hilton Head ice cream varieties and many specials. Whether your tastes are traditional like chocolate and vanilla, or more exotic like watermelon chocolate chip or Blue Moon Beer flavored scoops, there is something to satisfy any sweet tooth. Kim and her gang enjoy talking to their patrons so don’t be surprised if they pull up a seat and get to know you. UPDATE: It’s All So Yummy 2 will be opening soon in Oak Ridge!
Open Monday – Thursday 11-8, Friday & Saturday 11-9
Later that same week we visited to take the above photos, the owner of It’s All So Yummy asked if we would return and photography a family event they were holding. How could we refuse after they let us shoot their Yummy food? What a fun evening with these great folks. And aside from the kid-o’s getting a little tired of a camera being poked in their faces for a couple hours (I would be EXACTLY the same way as our wedding photographer can attest!), it all went smoothly!
